Fab : House Industries
It's no secret that we love House Industries. In fact my print of the Eames Arrow Serigraph is getting framed right now. Just about every product they put out I find worthy of sharing on Grassrootsmodern. With that in mind, the fact that you can pick up some of their amazing work on Fab with a nice discount makes this sale a winner. If you are looking for modern Christmas decorations, it's a good time to pick up that Alexander Girard Nativity. It's pricy, but I doubt you'll find it any cheaper.

Wild Heads
I am loving these "wild head" prints that Bongo Design did a while ago. Actually I love pretty much everything that Bongo has been doing lately. If you're not familiar with them, check them out.
Misko Mini Series
I'm not usually one to get excited about Kidrobot toys, but I thought that these Misko Mini series edition ones were pretty spectacular. These lavishly painted wood figures feature scalloped collars and pointed ears and come in a delightful arrangement of colors.
Monster Dice
I spotted this on Svpply this morning, and found myself strangely attracted to it. It has a certain Maurice Sendak charm to it if you ask me. I'm equally interested in the fact that it is Laser Etched Solid European Oak Heartwood. While the dice sadly appears to be sold out, the poster is still available.
Chairs By Eames
I'm not going to lie. I'm really pretty easy. Just give me a poster of a bunch of fabulous chairs designed by one of my favorite designers and I start to get all swoony.
Visual Philosophy
Sadly, this picture mostly reminds me of the Burke tulip base sitting in my breakfast nook waiting for restoration. Happily, the Visual Philosophy Etsy shop is full of wonderful mid century modern inspired posters and prints. Right now, I'm strangely drawn to the coffee related ones, but maybe that's just because I haven't had my first cup o joe yet.

Kooroo
Using an actual pig for a piggy bank is so inside the box. Me, I'm getting a Rhino bank.
Kooroo animals may be making the coolest things in Kansas right now. With a small collection of locally made ceramic piggy banks in shapes like camels, buffalos, and lions, Kooroo is looking to add a little fun and quirkiness to your day. Piggy banks not your thing? Make sure you check out their letterpress too.
Lane By Post
Lane by Post is a UK based graphic designer that makes wonderful prints for the home. Prints are very reasonably priced for the size and are available framed, or unframed. Which is your favorite?
New Alexander Girard Memory Game
When I was in Paris last month, I spent a decent amount of time in book stores browsing and looking for gifts. One thing that I stumbled upon that I probably should have picked up, but didn't is this fantastic Alexander Girard memory game made by Ammo Books. The book has a total of 72 cards featuring textile designs and illustrations by the MCM folk master himself.
House Industries : Flour Sack Towels
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It seems that everything that House Industries does is golden to me. Such is the case with their new Flour Sack Towels. Available in black, orange or gray, it seems the only questions left unanswered is which one do I get?
Flour Sack Towels available in sets of 3 for $30.

Brighton Early Birds
The sun is shinning today and the birds are chirping, and my mind is starting to turn towards spring… I think a cheery picture like this Brighton Early Bird print from Lo Cole is just the thing for today.
Pecha Kucha SLC : Friday
I always love Pecha Kucha, and I have a good feeling that this Fridays is going to be one of the best yet in SLC. Some of my favorite people will be speaking and it's at a great venue. If you have never been to a Pecha Kucha night before, it's time to repent and go. If you've been, you know how much fun they are. My only regret is that I'm going to miss this one due to my trip. I expect all of you to fill in for me.

Cross Paddle
OK, I fully admit it. It's pretty easy to get my attention. I'm sort of like a bird that's drawn to shiny things, except instead of shinny things I like wooden things with bold colors painted on them. So yes, I would like this Cross Paddle from Atelier 688 thank you very much.
DavidDavid :: French Riviera
I think it's only appropriate to close out the week with a little color. French Riviera anyone? This bold A3 sized print designed by DavidDavid is just the thing to add a little cheer to anyones day. Part of a signed edition of 100. If you love his bold pattern and color, make sure you check out his t shirts and scarves (ohh, those lovely scarves) on Bigcartel.
Toast: iPhone case
I love things that can be personalized. It makes me feel just a little bit less of a part of the machine. TOAST is here to personalize your iPhone with classy laser cut wood veneers. They have 8 standard designs, and you can add any text yo want to them. It's a decent little kickstarter project that needs some serious kickstarting to make it's deadline in 6 days. If you like it, spread the word, and quick.

2011 top posts!
I honestly can't believe that another year has come and gone. 2011 was a roller coaster for me, but I've got high hopes for 2012. I'll hopefully have some exciting new projects to announce shortly, but in the meantime, lets do a 2011 roundup and look at the top 5 most read post from the year.
#1 The fantastic Loop 3D chair was quite the hit. With those gorgeous lines, it's no surprise either.
#2 Everyone like a good DIY. With my post on DIY vintage cage lights and a little elbow grease, you can have the look without paying the high price. Those looking for something that involves a little less elbow grease, keep your eye on the Modern Union etsy shop. I'm working on getting something up there with some amazing cloth lamp cord soon.
#3 Arian Behzadi left us all swooning for more graphic collage goodness. Let's hope 2012 doesn't leave us hanging.
#4 Speaking of graphic goodness, Jill of Beau Ideal hit all the sweet spots with her screen prints.
#5 Last but far from least come the intelligent and attractive twin one cutlery utensils. Putting sporks to shame all year long.
Thanks to everyone for supporting Grassrootsmodern by reading and sharing with your friends. We couldn't do it without you! Also a HUGE thanks to our sponsors. Without them we couldn't afford to keep blogging.
2012 Synchronized Swimmer Calendar :: Mae Mae Paperie
These limited edition letterpress calendars are sure to make a splash in your--okay, sorry. I mean, hello, how often do I get to drop a swimming or water related pun on here??
