My friend Carina shared this awesome tableware collection on Pinterest recently and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind! From tea plates to espresso sets, mugs and tea cups I'm obsessed with every single one of these playful porcelain pieces. Granted, I'm not much a tea drinker so I'm secretly hoping beyond hope that they release some dinner and salad plate versions soon!
The Par Salt and Pepper shakers from Materia is another shinning example of beauty coming from a simple design and an honest material pallet. I really like the idea of a glass salt and pepper shaker and the cork base compliments it very well. Unfortunately I'm not sure if these are sold in the US, but I've sent an email inquiring about purchasing and I'll let everyone know what I find out.

I'm obviously on a wood + color kick this week, and while the Studio Juju bowls I posted about were amazing, the move vibrant colors of these Wood Color Tumblers from ITUTU are absolutely breathtaking. I admit the $57.11 price tag which is presumably for just one cup is a bit much, but they are coming all the way from Japan. What do you expect?
ITUTU Wood Tumbler $57
Whether you're a fan of big, bold color (like me!) or prefer things a little more on the subdued side, these salad bowls offer something for everyone. And their large size is perfectly suited for end-of-season BBQs or mid-winter parties! Nice.
Earlier this year I mentioned that I was falling deeper and deeper in love with scandinavian design. More recently on pinterest I have been obsessing over farmhouse tables in modern settings. So it was pretty much unavoidable that I would fall in love with the picture of these FermLiving Marionette dishes at Huset. I love the bold color and pattern juxtaposed with the raw wood table and stark white built in shelving in the background. Yes, I just used "love" three times in 4 sentences. Deal with it.
See more scandinavian design on GRM here.

When I first saw this modern glass water bottle by Takeya, I did a double take. At first glance I thought it was the Kor One. But looking closer the design is quite different. While I think I still prefer the looks of the Kor One, the Takeya is the winner for me for one simple reason. Glass. I hate plastic water bottles, even BPA free fancy whatever plastic. I still prefer drinking water from a glass container. The Takeya has a silicone sleeve over it to make it more grippy and comes in blue, green, white or black.
Modern Glass Water Bottle by Takeya $19

It's called a Yogurt Bowl, I just call it stunning. To that I would add that there are a whole slew of things that I would use this bowl for, yogurt being just one of them. The bowl itself is made of white blown glass and the lid is teak, and looks like it would double as a fantastic little plate. The number one thing I would do with this bowl if I had it? Just sit and stare at it.
Yogurt Bowl $25
Every once in a while Anthropologie has a product that is both amazing looking AND affordable. The Milk Bottle Measuring Cups nail it on both fronts. Made of white new bone china with colorful insides this is a measuring cup set I would feel good about leaving out in the open.

Culinarium has a great line up of kitchen related products, but the one that caught my eye is this set of stackable concrete bowls. These hand burnished bowls are so flawless that they almost look like aluminum rather than concrete. They come complete with a cork gasket and concrete lid.
Culinarium stackable concrete bowls $69.

This little Orla Kiely-esque number caught my eye the other day; I love the mod leaf pattern and colorway especially! All my hand soap comes in pump form, so this ceramic dish won't find a place in my home, unfortunately. But if any of you are looking for a new soap dish, check it out!
"Leaf Your Soap Here" Dish from ModCloth: $13
Bada bing, bada boom! Nothing sets my heart a-flutter like some colorful Scandinavian home accessories. These fanciful mugs were designed by Lotta Kühlhorn and are made from fine bone china. Choose from six sweet color combos in pink, yellow, red, orange, brown or green. My fave is the pink pear / orange leaves mug; what's yours?
Pear Mugs by Lotta Kühlhorn available from Huset: $22
We make and consume a lot of pizza in my house (it's one of my favorite foods to experiment with), so when I saw this typographic pizza plate my heart fluttered briefly and a huge smile came across my face. This! This is what a design conscious pizza lover dreams of! I'm ordering one stat.
Pizza Plate from Crate & Barrel: $5.95
I'm a big fan of carafes, although I willingly admit that I rarely use them. This picture of the "simply carafe" is almost enough to quench my thirst. As the name implies, it's simple, the way a carafe should be. It's wide mouth is accommodating when you decide you want to sass up your water with some lemon, mint or even cucumber. If you have $56 burning a hole in your pocket, treat yourself. If you are poor like me, just go buy some Voss water and keep the bottle.
Simply Carafe $56
I always love sleek subtle ceramics with a pop of hidden color. Fleet objects has a great collection of containers that are a lovely flat white exterior available with a white, mint, light blue, dark blue or light gray interior. They are available in a variety of sizes and shapes and come with or without lids. Pricing is very reasonable.
Fleet Objects $12 - $26
You know, it's all about the simple pleasures... Simple pleasures like eating pistachios (yum) and discarding their shells in a neat and tidy way. C'mon fellow clean freaks and OCDers, you know what I'm talking about. That's why the Double Dish from Joseph Joseph is so ingenious. It brings a whole new level of pleasure to eating olives/cherries/pistachios/any other small pitted/shelled foodstuffs: you don't have to look at a glistening pile of half chewed/sucked on food waste. It also "eliminates the need for additional empty bowls on the table", which in and of itself is fantastic. I'll take one in each color, please!
Available in white/green, green, and white/grey melamine.
Double Dish by Joseph Joseph available from Pop Deluxe: $18.99
I don't drink a lot of tea (I like Rockstars and diet sodas and all that other horrible stuff), but I like the idea of this Asian style tea cup. It has a clever infuser/lid combo so you can brew a single cup of tea instead of a whole pot. Also, it's available in four splashy colors, which is always a plus in my book. What do you think? Yay or nay for this unique form and function combo?
Modern tea cup by Curve available from Hipster Home: $22
Extra awesome bonus fun round: Do you drink tea? What is your favorite kind? If you're convincing, I might just buy myself one of these and start brewing!
Almost everything that Sagaform makes is a home run in my book. The Retro Kitchen Jar is no exception either. This simple stoneware jar with acaia lid is given a little flair with a retro pattern. The end result is "retro" with out being dated or cheesy.
Retro Kitchen Jar $14-$27
Nope! You were fooled though, weren't you? At least for a second? Darn. Moving on, then. Designer Helen Johannessen crafted these earthenware pieces to mimic those classic Tupperware containers we all grew up with. A bit of nostalgia in an updated material. The "Is That Plastic" collection includes a butter dish, small pot, and an egg saucer. Available in mint green, orange, petrol blue, and yellow.
Is That Plastic by Helen Johannessen available from Theo: £9.50 - £24.50
