Adam Hogsett :: Bottle Opener
I have a lot of little obsessions in life, and bottle openers are definitely one of them. For some reason I am always looking for just the right one. I'm really liking the raw look of these bottle openers made by Adam Hogsett of 510 design and fabrication. Each one is manually machined from cold formed steel and hand stamped with the production number. The finish is a darkened steel with a thin coat of wax to prevent any rusting. The whole thing is only 3" long, so it's not too bulky, but I'm sure it has a very satisfying heft to it.
Sphere Planter
If you have ever looked for a hanging planter you probably know it's really really hard to find a good looking one. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that this Sphere planter by Tokyo Craft Studios is one of the best that I have ever seen. Hand made in Tokyo this little guy has it all, even a built in drain and reservoir to hold excess water. All that goodness can be yours for just $36.
Brian Flynn :: Imperial Forces Wallpaper
Finally. Something for the decor-conscious Star Wars fan. Artist Brian Flynn has teamed up with Super7 to create a hand-screened, flocked, yes flocked, wallpaper called "Imperial Forces", successfully bringing Star Wars-themed rooms to a whole other level.
Joseph Walsh Furniture
My friend on Facebook recently brought the work of Joseph Walsh to my attention. Much of his work is very organic and perhaps a bit too ornate looking for my taste, but the repeating geometric patterns of this Prism Round dining table appealed to my cold hard modernist heart. Not only is the design absolutely gorgeous, I have a huge amount of respect for the skill that went into pulling those joints off. I've recently been working on a project that has a similar leg design, and I can tell you it's not easy.

Lori Bracelet
I don't usually write about jewelry, but I'm going to make an exception for this Lori Bracelet from EVRT Studio. It seems to have everything that is hot right now, raw wood, faceted surfaces and a healthy pop of color. Seems like a winner to me.
This isn't the first time that we've feature EVRT here on GRM. We had a little piece on their CIty Towels earlier this year.
James Bills Artwork
OMG. That's about all I can say. I am so in love with this artwork from James Bills. It's an amazing combination of color and geometry that translates into pure eye candy. More goodness below.

Eames House Time Lapse
A few weeks ago when I was in California, they were just starting to pack up the entire interior of the Eames house to move it to LACMA for an upcoming exhibit. The move is giving them a chance to do some much needed repairs on the home, as well as restore some of the precious items found inside. I came across this great time lapse of everything being carefully packed up. Pretty incredible to watch.
Mossa Sofa :: Chiasso
The Mossa Sofa is your modern tweed sofa--with a twist! The head rest is adjustable three ways, even folding all the way back for a super low and sleek look. Pretty spiffy, eh? The price isn't too shabby either!
FALT.leuchte
I love the idea of a inexpensive concrete pendent light. This one looks like it came out of a silicone mold, but I bet with a bit of ambition and some creativity you could come up with a similar DIY solution.
Blackout Silicone Watch
Almost 6 months ago one of my readers wrote to me looking for a source for a flat black watch. I did some googling around and came up empty handed, but I never forgot the challenge. Today I was delighted to find this sexy black silicone watch by Michael Kors. I've got sort of a thing for watches, and this one definitely get's me drooling. I'd love to see it in person to see how the silicone feels etc. Anyone have this watch, or know of any other good flat black watches?
Cargo Containers :: Daniel Ballou
With the popularity of shipping container houses, I thought these mini ceramic containers were pretty amusing. Scaled down from 8 feet to 8 inches, they're perfect for storing everything from flour and sugar to office supplies. And, just like the real things, they're stackable to maximize precious shipyard countertop space.
Canvas Bushel Basket
I've been really into some of the more honest vintage products lately, so I hope you are hanging in there with me. Today's revelation is this fantastic canvas bushel basket from the museum of useful things. These canvas bags have a steel frame and leather binding at the top. While they look like they would be right at home in your local post office, I think that they would also be a fantastic contrast in a clean modern space. Measures 13 1/2" high and 17" wide.
Finn Lights :: West Elm
Whether as a single pendant or in chandelier form as a trio, these powder coated lights from West Elm are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! They've got Scandinavian modern written all over them, don't you think? Available in black or white (with all-white interiors).
Rough South Home
Wooden pallet chairs from the Rough South Home Etsy shop. Personally I think that half the fun is building them yourself, but if you aren't the handy type, maybe this is your ticket. $75 each with free delivery in Atlanta. They have some other great treasures on their Etsy shop as well.
Salt Lake Modern Event :: Taylor Woolley
As some of you may know, I'm on a subcommittee of UHF that focuses on Mid Century Modern architecture in Salt Lake City. I'm excited to announce that our fall event is coming up this weekend! We are going back to the roots of modernism and having an open house at a Taylor Woolley home. One of Utah’s first modernists, Taylor Woolley is known as the architect that introduced the Prairie School Style to Utah in 1911. Outside the state, Woolley is known as Frank Lloyd Wright’s trusted draftsman and a prominent fi gure in the popular book “Loving Frank.”

Gro Cribs
Buying furniture for little people can be a serious investment, and sometimes it's hard to justify dropping a large amount of cash for something that is only useful for a few years. That's why I love cribs that can serve multiple purposes, like this Gro 5 in 1 Companion crib. Besides being a crib, there are options to turn it into a toddler bed (shown above), day bed, play table, or desk. All that and it assembles in under 2 minutes with no tools needed. Thats smart. Gro 5 in 1 Companion Crib $999 - $1,390
Modern Bird Feeder :: Gainey
This beautiful specimen is handmade from high fired ceramic (using 25% recycled clay--woo!) by the fine folks at Gainey, who have been in the business since 1949. It's available in four perfectly mod hues: white, aqua, canary, and avocado.
Emmerson Dining Table
Why yes, I am still obsessing over farmhouse tables in modern settings. Thanks you for noticing. Last night while flipping though the new West Elm catalogue I spotted this fantastic Emmerson table made from reclaimed shipping pallets. First off, I would love to get my hands on some of those pallets, second this is a fabulous table for the money. I love that it just has a simple wax finish on it too.
Plate Coaster :: Rina Ono
These are, hands down, the loveliest coasters I've ever laid eyes on. Designed by Rina Ono and handmade in Japan by Hidetoshi Takahashi, these solid wood coasters are available in maple, cherry, or walnut--yum!
